All families have their traditions. In my family, catching your first fish is paramount to driving your first time or going to prom. My dad has been itching to take him out and bought him his first fishing pole for his 5th birthday. { Big boy little } has been practicing in the front yard for weeks, playing in his tackle box and preparing for the day when he becomes one of the guys.
The lake was muddy from all the rain and the overcast sky reminded us that more rain was to come. But in Ohio, you either let the rain keep you in, or you take your chances and get out to do things.
He waited patiently for a bite, as we were also mildly entertained by the raccoon that either wanted to befriend us, or eat our catch. Probably the latter. There were 2 fish caught tonight, and the second was all {big boy little}. He yanked the line and started reeling with excitement. It could not have been more perfect, with his daddy and his pawpaw at his side.
