Boys love to wrestle. Did you know that? And my boys aren't even crazy, ridiculously active boys. And tonight it was some combination of football running and tackling. He's a good daddy, right in there with them. Canon 5DII || Sigma 24 ART
It's not even October yet, but { big boy little } was driving me crazy, insisting that the decorations had to be up. I blame the neighbors across the the street, with their super sweet gi-normous spider that fills their foyer window. So the boys went to work. That kid loves halloween. Loves it. The next 33 days are going to kill him. Canon 5DIII || Sigma 35 ART
You know how when you were a kid, getting mail, let alone a package, was like a bit of Christmas morning in the middle of the year?? It was an awesome surprise for the boys. Pawpaw sent a package with buckeyes that he picked/found/knocked out of a tree for his grandbabies. He included the string and beads so these boys have some buckeye attire for game days. It was a night with good friends. I feel so lucky that we have them, and how our big boys enjoy each other. Couldn't image my life without this fam as a part of it. Canon 450D || Canon 24 pancake
Pizza, smores, friendship, flashlights and a few trips around the yard in a couple mini sports cars. Fun times indeed. Canon 450D || Canon 24 pancake
He was trying to teach his little brother how to swing the bat at the bus stop today. It was one of those smile and look at me moments. Every once in a while, a looking at the camera shot is in order. #brothers #teachinghimeverythingheknows iphone 6
Daddy was on a boys golfing trip (well deserved as he is always with us)...so the boys and I did some errand running, dinner at the mall food court on the tiny kids tables that they insist we (I) squeeze into. The begged to play at the play place in the mall but I convinced them I had something better up my sleeve. We played pirates as they zoomed around to all the equipment on the playground down the street from our house. I got my shot, then put my camera away and just played alongside them. Pretty perfect night if you ask me. Canon 450D || Canon 24 pancake
I love this little sand box. When we need a change from the usual. Presto. We drag this bin out of my shoe closet. The bin filled with magic sand, kitchen utensils, cups, cars and all sorts of trinkets. Some sand gets on the floor, because, well, he's 2 and sometimes forgets to keep it in the bin. Nothing that the vacuum can't handle.
We ended the day with a visit from Aunt L & Cousin G. The boys were wild. Baby little was probably in time-out half-a-dozen times. Sorry. I wish you could have seen what I usually see...that my kids aren't generally beasts, but I am sure the impression you came away with may have been just that. But then again, every mom knows that kids are unpredictable...and they do their own thing at times. Either way, my little beasts enjoyed the visit...especially playing zombies with you. lol I am feeling lucky today. To be here for this. Nothing unusual about today. I am outside, with my boys, watching them play. If things hadn't changed, and my love and I hadn't made this choice, for me to be at home, I would be at work. I would be helping little people-counseling, chatting with my work friends (I'm a talker) or on the phone with a parent. But I'm not. I am right here. Witnessing their childhoods firsthand. I'll admit, I'm not always distraction free...I am still a photographer, with clients and editing and photo shoots. I'm seeking balance there. But I need to put them first. My 3 guys. I don't get today back. Once it's gone, it's gone. Savor it. Even the chaos. Breathe it in and be grateful for it.

What now?It truly is a labor of love each day to search for just the right image(s)...the ones that represent our daily lives...edit them, organize them, write about them. What a wonderful experience and an amazing amount of growth this year for me. It has been a great journey but one I am not jumping into again just yet. I am going to take a breather, let the dust settle and let inspiration find me and lead me to my next project. For now, I will continue to post about our lives but only when I feel it.
