We stood in the bathroom today before school...his request; to do his hair like a teenager. What? Oh good grief. My little "teenager" spent his evening putting on a rock concert. I'm just grateful he doesn't know anything about teenage attitude.

It was a summer ago when he was swimming. Daddy taught him when we were in Punta Cana. I could not have been more proud! But by the time he got in the water this last summer, he lost his confidence and forgot that he knows how to swim. So we signed up for swim class and I am just amazed at what he is already doing..and no fear, he is excited and wants to learn. That's how things are for my { big boy little }...it has to be in his own time. And when he's ready, he's all in. Canon 450D || Canon 24 pancake
I spent today with Tara...2nd shooting a wedding. We are a good team. And on my way from one location to another, I snapped this shot...this vibrant November sky. iphone
On nice days, we stay after school to play with his friend { J }. They were in pre-school together and are a great match as they are both sweet caring souls. He waits for her outside her classroom most days, and they walk out together. I love that my son is the kind of kid that even the girls like to hang out with...I am so proud of his sensitive and loving heart. Canon 450D || Canon 24 pancake
Another evening, out here, catching the last glimpses of daylight. What is it about boys and sticks? The attraction puzzles my at times...but maybe it's the versatility of what it could be. Today it's a sword...it's used for ninja training. But on another day it might be a walking stick, a tool for digging, or even a tool for fixing an ATV. Today it's about power and strength...and he's rocking it.
We tend to sit in the back yard more in the spring and the fall...appreciating what the change of seasons has to give. The boys played in the leaves and threw them in the air with eyes closed, waiting for them to tickle their noses. They would scrunch their little shoulders in anticipation. This is what childhood is supposed to be. Simple and full of smiles. We could all use more of this. Canon 5D II || Sigma 24 ART
The sun goes down so quickly now, but we needed fresh air. So I fired up the grill for dinner and the boys brought some toys out to the table. We are catching the last glimpses of Fall...taking it in and being grateful for it. Canon 5DII || Sigma 24 ART
Daddy and bubby went to the driving range, so it was time, just us two. Still in our pajamas we pulled the sandbox out and somehow he talked me into putting his feet into the sand. Sometimes I make up rules. The rule was, no feet in the box. You know why. Sand. Gets. Everywhere. But today, sure, why not. Sometimes rules are open to interpretation. And he loved it. Loved standing there, pouring the sand on his feet, feeling it stick between his toes. Yep, sometimes rules are meant to be broken. iphone 6

What now?It truly is a labor of love each day to search for just the right image(s)...the ones that represent our daily lives...edit them, organize them, write about them. What a wonderful experience and an amazing amount of growth this year for me. It has been a great journey but one I am not jumping into again just yet. I am going to take a breather, let the dust settle and let inspiration find me and lead me to my next project. For now, I will continue to post about our lives but only when I feel it.
