If we are lucky in life, we not only have wonderful supporting families, but we find some beautiful friends who help shape who we are. I have been so lucky this way. Every time I wear this, I think of my friend who made it for me years ago. I love the mixture of beads and the textures...but most of all, that it reminds me of her. She was my first best friend, and has had such a great influence on who I am because of what a truly beautiful person she is. Love you.
I almost forgot my image today!! It was a busy day. I booked a new wedding with a super awesome couple...so exciting :) I love weddings. Anywho. Luckily enough, I remembered right before bed. A few days ago { big boy little } was looking over my shoulder as I was on pinterest and saw this pin. He has been itching to try it ever since. And of course, It was a hit (follow this link for the instructions). Canon 5D II | Tamron 17-35
I am not much of a baker, but when I bake, we do it together. Waffles and chocolate chip banana bread are our most common concoctions. { Big boy little } and I put on our pampered chef aprons and start mixing. I see how he is so careful and precise for such a little guy. He requires a paper towel if he gets the ingredients on his hands. My big guy is not one for messes or getting his hands dirty. This time we included { baby little } so he could stir air in his mixing bowel. Caught ya stinker...way to lick the utensils. I don't like the intrusion of the tripod (ok..well, I just didn't feel like setting it up) so I put my camera on the bakers rack and used my trigger to capture a moment of me with my boys. It is so important to get in some shots with our littles. Canon 5D II | Canon 35 2.0
Capturing my little sleeping cutie has been on my list. This could not be a more perfect shot of my lovely napping baby. Paci in his hand, and his "blankie" at his side. And the icing on the cake...that patch of hair sticking up at the back of his lovely little head. Canon 5D II | Canon 35 2.0
I live in Cleveland. We get snow. Lots of snow in fact. It's been 12 years of these winters...but the amount of snow we get still amazes me. Although the drive home was a bit uneasy, the scenery was magnificent. I gave my boys a snack, threw on my snow boots and stood on the deck trying to capture what I was seeing with my eyes. Beautiful fluffy flakes like cotton candy falling from the sky. I was trying to take it in...how the snow sits gently on the branches and needles on the tress. I am surprised at myself this year. How I am seeing the winter in a new way. I am actually enjoying it. And although I will be begging for spring once March hits (knowing that it may not come til May), I'm going to enjoy the magic for now. Canon 5D II | Sigma 50 ART
His patience paid off. After 3 long days, it was finally time to complete his experiment. To a 4 year old, 3 days feels like an eternity so when I said tonight was the night, he was giddy. I loved watching his concentration as he mixed the powder, and carefully poured it into the top of his volcano. Once he added the water his facial expressions changed to excitement and awe, with a few giggles here and there. One of the many gifts I get as a parent, is watching him discover new things and get excited about things that, as an adult, I take for granted or seem so simple. To him, it's a great adventure and he's taking me along for the ride. Canon 5D II | Sigma 50 ART & Tamron 17-35
My { big boy little } has a fascination with Volcanos. There was a Volcano kit under the tree Christmas morning just as there was the year before. He's been pleading with me to use it since he opened it, but I have been holding it off... wanting to save it for a dreary winter day when we were stir crazy and needed something new to do. I couldn't hold him off any longer. We created the mold on Saturday and he has been waiting patiently these past two days until it was just dry enough to paint. As you can see, he was very serious about his design. While big brother added detail to his creation, { baby little } enjoyed some play-doh. Canon 5D II | Canon 35 2.0
Stir craziness is starting to set in. The snow keeps falling, the inches compounding and there is no end in sight. It's beautiful but limiting. He knows that. He knows that our { big boy little } needs to run off some steam. So he whispers to him, a plan for the two of them. They hop from the couch and prep for the cold, some snow blowing and adventures in the sled. Canon 5D II | Canon 35 2.0

What now?It truly is a labor of love each day to search for just the right image(s)...the ones that represent our daily lives...edit them, organize them, write about them. What a wonderful experience and an amazing amount of growth this year for me. It has been a great journey but one I am not jumping into again just yet. I am going to take a breather, let the dust settle and let inspiration find me and lead me to my next project. For now, I will continue to post about our lives but only when I feel it.
