So I'm making dinner and my babies are super quiet, aside from the sound of Party Rock Anthem (don't ask) coming from the foyer. If you are a mama, you know that quiet can be dangerous. But when I walked in, this is exactly what I witnessed. Two little boys, huddled into a shipping box, listening to music on the iPad. The best part of being a mama of two (ok...I may be repeating myself here) is watching them together. { Big boy little } called for his brother and { baby little } was eager to join. I so love these tiny people and that beautiful sibling connection. Canon 5D II | Sigma 50 ART

Grass. Today I saw the ground. It may not mean much to someone who lives in a warmer climate, but hear me out. We have not seen the ground in two months. I was starting to wonder if it would still be there...under the piles of white that have taken over our city. Thank you green. I am glad you stuck around. Looking forward to seeing more of you. On another note...my Hunter boots are perfection. Aren't they pretty. Everyone needs a pair of plum colored rain boots. Canon 5D II | Sigma 35 ART
All it took was a trip to the Lake Erie Monster's game with his daddy, his best buddy and daddy...and we have a little hockey player. He slept with the stick and puck in his room and the moment he woke up "training" was the first thing on his mind and the first words out of his mouth. A new interest, an excitement, a reenactment of the moves he witnessed in the rink. His little brother, on the sidelines watching his every move...taking it all in...rooting for his bubby. He made an ice cream machine, or so he tells me. He explains to me in great detail how the ice cream starts in the spiked ball, moves down the belt and through to the end. I can only assume his new fascination with creating factories has something to do with the few episodes he has watched on How it's Made. It is funny, because the watching of this series all started with a french fry. Yep. At dinner one night, when he wouldn't dare touch his baked potato, I explained to him that french fries come from potatoes...of course he should like it. When he looked at me like I was pulling this out of my *&%#, daddy pulled out his iPhone and started searching YouTube. Ah ha. We may be old, little boy, but we know what we are talking about. I digress. So this is an ice cream factory. And yes, he is dancing around the ice cream factory. I don't know what to tell you, other than kids do weird stuff sometimes. And creative stuff. I love the creative. Keep dancing buddy. Canon 5D II | Sigma 35 ART
It's a movie night. Are you curious as to why? Of course there doesn't have to be a particular reason but tonight there was. I bribed my almost-five-year-old to try calamari at dinner...in exchange for a movie night. And you know what, he kind of liked it :) And the movie of choice was the new crowd fav around here. I'm not quite sure who enjoyed playing with Fluffy Stuff more...{ big boy little } or Miss Tara Dee! My dear photog friend spent lunch and the afternoon talking shop with me and playing with my boys. Canon 5D II | Sigma 35 ART & Tamron 24-70
Opening the mailbox to an issue of Click Magazine is tantamount to Christmas morning for me. Sometimes I wait for days to open it's pages; for the right moment when there are no distractions. Just me, a warm drink and a few quiet moments reading (but even more so) pouring over beautiful images in print. Wisdom from other photographers, their stories. It is inspiring and beautiful. Bust instead of waiting for the perfect moment this time, I made some hot cocoa and setting down on the couch next to my love and scoured it's pages. A perfect Thursday evening if I do say so myself. He put it together almost entirely himself...the gift from Nena. It surprised me how well he followed the directions, creating what he saw in the pictures. Building has always been his thing but the tiny lego kits have generally become a conglomeration of who knows what, mostly turned into weapons (yes, it pains me to say that, but shooters and swords are a big thing around here; however, that's a post for another day.). There were some grunts and exasperation when the pieces wouldn't go together just right but he wouldn't quit. With a little help from daddy, it was complete. Way to go big boy. When the doorbell rang I knew exactly what it was. Nena (my boys name for my mama) always sends a care package for Valentine's. It tends to arrive a bit past the date but it's because she's always filling it with love. Well that, and time just isn't her thing ;) When I announced that it was from Nena, poor { baby little } thought Nena was at the door. With tears in his eyes and that pouty lip, he kept calling for her out the front window. We saved the goodies for after dinner. Toys, Books, Chocolates, Puppy Chow for me, Fudge for her son-in-law and gift cards tucked into lovely cards for each of us. She spoils us so :) Thank you Nena for the treasures, the beautiful words, but mostly for packing some love in the box and sending it to us. I U. Canon 5D II | Sigma 35 ART
Well hello there handsome. Some might go for the smiles in their images, but boy oh boy, I crave that look, the one where you can almost peek into his beautiful little soul. It feels so honest, not created, just what is. { Baby little } and I spent 30 minutes of our morning doing a mini photo shoot while bubbly was at school. I wanted to capture all the emotions of my quickly growing blue eyed baby. Mama loves you peanut, every last part of you. Canon 5D II | Sigma 35 ART

What now?It truly is a labor of love each day to search for just the right image(s)...the ones that represent our daily lives...edit them, organize them, write about them. What a wonderful experience and an amazing amount of growth this year for me. It has been a great journey but one I am not jumping into again just yet. I am going to take a breather, let the dust settle and let inspiration find me and lead me to my next project. For now, I will continue to post about our lives but only when I feel it.
