"Is it baf night?" he says. Yep. In the matter of 5 minutes the tub was covered in colored scribbles, circles and swirls. Bathtub crayons are the bomb. I forget we have them, months go by and then I pull them out and it is like a brand new toy. Translation: Baf = Bath Canon 5DII || Sigma 35 ART
He told {baby little} to put the racket up to his face while he threw the birdie at him. {Baby little} laughed every time. And a little later, while Pawpaw and {big boy little} went on a bike ride and baby little tried to catch up on his hand-me-down Lightning McQueen ride on. He was happy just to be on the road like them. Canon 5DII || Sigma 35 ART
All families have their traditions. In my family, catching your first fish is paramount to driving your first time or going to prom. My dad has been itching to take him out and bought him his first fishing pole for his 5th birthday. { Big boy little } has been practicing in the front yard for weeks, playing in his tackle box and preparing for the day when he becomes one of the guys. The lake was muddy from all the rain and the overcast sky reminded us that more rain was to come. But in Ohio, you either let the rain keep you in, or you take your chances and get out to do things. He waited patiently for a bite, as we were also mildly entertained by the raccoon that either wanted to befriend us, or eat our catch. Probably the latter. There were 2 fish caught tonight, and the second was all {big boy little}. He yanked the line and started reeling with excitement. It could not have been more perfect, with his daddy and his pawpaw at his side. To see more photos from our adventure....click HERE. Canon 5DII || Sigma 35 ART
I have waiting for this shot since he opened the camera on Christmas morning. I think the camera was for me more than him. You know, I secretly want to raise a little photographer that will go on shoots with me and enjoy it just as much as I do. Thanks stinker, this was just the shot I was looking for! I needed to do a location scout so why not take my little people? The lake is awesome but the little beach was just as cool. We will certainly have to go back with swimsuits. After our scout out I treated the boy to a little Sonic lunch. They giggled and goofed around in the far back as we waited for our lunch and milkshakes (genius idea mom...load of laundry #678 for the week). Now that {baby little} is getting bigger, we are venturing out more and more. I have always felt like we don't take advantage of all the places Cleveland and the area has to offer...but no longer. It was the end to a great season. Daddy rocked his job as the coach with weekly line ups, a huge tiger roar before each game, and encouragement. And {big boy little}, well he was certainly excited by the trophy ;) Canon 5DII || Sigma 35 ART
We were Great Wolf Lodge virgins until today. We blocked off the weekend for camping but the storms and rain thought better of it and we booked a little staycation. I was hooked when they gave me wolf ears for my pack. I mean, seriously, what mama doesn't want to see their children in furry wolf ears? Or is that just a trait my mother and I share? We spent the afternoon swimming, the evening playing arcade games, listening to bedtime stories in the front hall and ended the day with cookies and a movie back at our den. Yep, sounds just right to me. Fujifilm x100
We stayed until the late afternoon at Great Wolf Lodge after a McDonald's breakfast and water park fun. Daddy offered some hefty loot if {big boy little} would only ride the large slide with him. Even the offer of $100 or 2 magic wands from the store weren't enough to lure him up there. He is cautious and has a bit of his mama in him...he just wouldn't budge. But I get that. I do. And I was proud of him for doing everything else in that park. Because I know his little heart...I know his hesitation. But I hope that one day I can teach him that you don't always have to play it safe and even if something is scary and new, fear shouldn't be the only one making the decisions. Fujifilm x100
You'd think we were hard up for entertainment around here. Goofing around again in their undies. And I love it. Canon 5DII || Sigma 35 ART

What now?It truly is a labor of love each day to search for just the right image(s)...the ones that represent our daily lives...edit them, organize them, write about them. What a wonderful experience and an amazing amount of growth this year for me. It has been a great journey but one I am not jumping into again just yet. I am going to take a breather, let the dust settle and let inspiration find me and lead me to my next project. For now, I will continue to post about our lives but only when I feel it.
